Novel Excerpts
These are links to excerpts from novels I am working on. There is a little information about each piece and I’ll be updating as I make progress on them.
A Picture is Worth a Thousand Lies
Told from the perspectives of four friends and two of their children, A Picture is Worth a Thousand Lies jumps back and forth from their unraveling present to the past that got them there. It is meant to examine how much of themselves people share with the people they love and what it is that makes them hold back. I’ve been developing this for a few years now (the “present” day dates reflect when I actually began writing). Though I have a rough outline for the rest of the novel, I only have about half of it actually written. I keep changing my mind about the specifics of how it’s going to end.
Roxanne has been through a lot… of men. Insignificant Others follows Roxy’s recollections of her past relationships, revealing at least as much about herself as them. This is still in the early stages though I’ve had a lot of fun generating ideas and especially characters. It’s a little tricky because I am not writing it in order. Instead, I have separate documents for different parts and I’ll piece them all together when it’s done. I don’t think I’ll change my mind about starting with the two pieces I’ve posted.
